Torque Wrench Set - 1/4" - 1-25Nm
If you want your bike to run in mint condition then it's worth getting the right torque value on your bolts. Over-torquing can result in damage to your parts - some of us have wrecked dropper posts and carbon parts as a result. Under-torquing is downright dangerous as things can fall off or rotate unexpectedly on you. Before purchasing this please read the entire product description so that you understand how to use this product properly. This Torque Wrench is 23cm long and has markings to provide Torques of 1-25Nm. The wrench is calibrated at 5N, 15Nm and 25Nm to ISO standard 6789 (within a +-4% tolerance). It can also provide lower torques than 5Nm but they are likely to be outside of the 4% tolerance. We strongly advise you to watch the following video to understand how to use it, especially at low torques. Please note that at low torques the wrench does not make an audible clicking sound. That range allows this torque wrench to be used for everything from lock-on grips to beefier suspension pivots. The correct torque is achieved when the head of the torque wrench swivels relative to the body. It is important to pay attention to the head of the wrench when applying torque. The following video demonstrates usage of this wrench Sorry, your browser doesn't support embedded videos. This wrench comes with the following 16 drivers (all 1/4 inch driver size) in a handy plastic case: 3mm hex 4mm hex 5mm hex 5mm hex - extra long 6mm hex 8mm hex 10mm hex T15 torx T20 torx T25 torx T27 torx T30 torx T40 torx 4 mm socket 9cm extension 5mm hex - Long The first time you use this tool it is worth using a medium torque setting on a high torque bolt to get a feel for what the mechanism feels like when a torque is reached. Once you are familiar with using the tool, go nuts! Like with all torque wrenches, make sure you store the wrench at zero torque after using it. If you don't set it back to zero torque, the gauge will become inaccurate after some time. Please note that this torque wrench only works in the clockwise direction (tightening conventional threads). The torque limiter will not activate with left hand threads - you risk breaking the tool and damaging your bike. I.e. Don't use it on both of your pedals!

Chain Wear Indicator
Replacing chains regularly is the best way to ensure a long life from your drive-train. This Chain Wear Indicator will help tell you what your chain wear is, so you know when to replace it. Usage instructionsPlace the wide end into a link on your chain and gently try push the other in. If the chain slips into the 1% gap then your chain has more than 1% wear. If the chain fits into the 0.75% gap but not the 1% gap, it has between 0.75% and 1% wear. To get a long life out of your drive-train, your chain should be replaced once it has a wear of between 0.75% and 1.0%. If your chain is at 1% or more it should be replaced immediately, otherwise you risk massively reducing the life of your drive-train.

Cassette Removal Tool (for spanner use)
This Cassette Removal Tool is made to help you remove your cassette. It must be with a spanner or vice as it does not have a handle. It can also be used with a 1/2" drive ratchet/wrench. This tool is small which makes it great for the travelling tool kit. This will remove Shimano HG style cassettes - so pretty much anything that is not Campy standard. Yes, that includes SRAM cassettes. This tool can also be used to remove internally splined Shimano Centerlock caps. This can also be used to remove Rockshox air fork top caps too 😊

Bike Repair Stand
When working on your bike, having it elevated and held in place is extremely useful. This repair stand is a fantastic investment for being able to fix your bike. The stand is easy to set-up, has an adjustable height, adjustable clamp, rotatable clamp and is quite strong. And on-top of that, it's legs fold down to give a minimum length of 1m, so you can hide it in the corner or take it on trips. Having your own Bike Repair Stand is a great way to start doing maintenance on your own bikes. We would be lost without ours! You have the option of including a magnetic tool tray with your Repair Stand. Details about this product can be found here. You also have the option of including a handlebar holder with your repair stand. Details about this product can be found here. The alternatives to this product are: Bench mounted repair stand here Wall mounted repair stands here Both are cheaper and take up less space, but aren't portable. Specifications: Maximum Weight Capacity: 25kg - it can likely hold more but that is at your own risk Adjustable height from 102 - 154cm Clamp opening adjusts from 30 - 80mm. Clamp has soft rubber on the inside which prevents damage being done to your bike when clamping. Notes Don't worry about this product being partially made out of plastic. It is very robust If you want to put your bike on super funky angles you may need to tighten the rotation mechanism. This can easily be done by taking the handle off and tightening a bolt which brings the teeth slightly closer together. As with all other Repair Stands, there are a few ways using them can go wrong. Firstly, clamping your bike too hard can break things - just go easy on tightening it. Secondly, the bike needs to be reasonably central between the feet, otherwise the stand can fall over. Height Adapters: The height of the tool tray isn't quite right on these stands by default so we've made an adapter so you can adjust the height of your tool tray. This isn't essential, but it does make the stand a bit more ergonomic 😊 We'll get some good photos at some stage... The height adapter allows you to do this... Comparison to other stands on the NZ market We've been sad to see other shops selling other cheap repair stands that are not fit for purpose. We've tried all of these stands and it was disappointin each time. We'd love to bring a more cost effective repair stand to our customers but we simply aren't willing to sell something that isn't fit for purpose. Below are some things to watch out for with some competing products: Product 1: Generic workstand, approximately $80-$130 The clamping mechanism of this stand isn't robust and is prone to breaking, especially if exposed to sunlight. The clamp also requires herculean strength to be able to mount your bike at an angle. It also has a very small base of support which means it's difficult to work on your bike without it tipping over. All of the stands in this price bracket which look similar to this stand are all from the same manufacturer and share the same issues. These stands are fairly easily identified by the thin legs, clamping mechanism and the coloured plastic clamps (blue, red, black, yellow etc.) Product 2: Generic workstand, looks very similar to this product. Approximately $130-$160 This stand looks like the stand we have listed but it is much much flimsier. When you mount a bike in it the whole stand starts to bend and it's rather un-nerving. We used this stand for a bit of servicing and we were saddened with its general build quality. We had high hopes for this one as it's much cheaper to import but we couldn't bring ourselves to do it! This stand can be identified by its rectangular tool tray, its different shaped plastic leg mounts (which fall off!) and sometimes it includes the anti-roll bar (dangling in the second photo).

Basic Chain Whip
This Basic Chain Whip will hold your Cassette still while you remove your cassette lock-ring. Pretty handy when you want to replace your cassette, service your freehub or run a different set of wheels. The total length of this tool is 28cm and it is compatible with 7-12 speed chains. The differences between the Basic and Premium Chain whips are handle length, tool quality, aesthetics and price. The premium chain whip also has a magnet to stop the chain from slapping around, which is a nice touch. We prefer the extra leverage, and comfortable handle, of the Premium tool but we decided to stock both so that you have the choice.

Rotor Truing & Pad Spreading tool
This tool helps to solve two problems that happen to disc brakes regularly: Problem 1: Bent disc rotorsEven slight bends in rotors are a pain in the butt. Bends decrease your braking performance and make your bike noisy as your rotor rotates (*ting* *ting* *ting*). This tool has rotor width slots which can be used to remove your rotor wobble. There are 3 slots, just in case you need to access the rotor from different angles. Problem 2: Pads are too close to each otherYour pads are too far advanced. Generally this occurs when your pads are worn out and you want to replace them, but the new pads are too thick... What about that time you take your wheel out and accidentally grab the brake lever? This tool will slot nicely between your pads to easily lever them open. Note: When using this tool please make sure it is clean (we clean ours with iso-propyl alcohol often). Contaminating your pads or rotors is not fun and generally means you have to replace your disc pads.

Pedros Tyre Levers (Pair)
Pedros tyre levers are by far our favourite tyre levers. They are strong, shaped well and seem to get the job done when other levers have problems. Here's a pair, because we care. We don't think there's much of a contest, Pedros tyre levers really are some of (if not the) best tyre levers on the market. Here's the breakdown of reviews that google has aggregated (as of 24-08-21, 12pm):

Basic Cassette Removal Tool
This Basic Cassette Removal Tool is made to remove your cassette. It has a supporting centre pin, which reduces the chances of you aligning it at a funny angle on your cassette - which helps to not strip it. It also has a handle which provides good leverage and really helps to align the tool with your cassette spline. The total length of this tool is 24cm. This will remove Shimano HG style cassettes - so pretty much anything that is not Campy standard. Yes, that includes SRAM. This tool can also be used to remove Shimano Centerlock rotors. The differences between the Basic and Premium Basic Cassette tools are handle length, tool quality, aesthetics and price. We prefer the more comfortable handle and extra leverage of the Premium tool, but we decided to stock both so that you have the choice.

Cable Cutter
These cable cutters will help you get a clean cut when cutting gear inner, outer and hydraulic cables. None of the fraying that you get with pliers or side-cutters! They have rubber handles and a spring for ease of use. Notes: These cable cutters do not have a crimping surface for attaching cable ends. You can use some pliers for that. As with other cutters, these will ovalise the end of the outer cable. After cutting your outer, push an inner cable through from the other end to open it up and it should be good! To get good leverage these open reasonably wide. The downside of that is if you have small hands they may be difficult to use. If for some reason you are unable to use them please get in touch with us to return them and we will offer a refund.
